504 Plan, Knockout, and other updates!

Hey all! It’s been quite a while since an update, so here’s some big news for you. We at FOBAT have spent our entire winter break grinding on making our website more professional, useful, and filled with content.

For perspective, we meet regularly for hours doing research and collecting information on the bands we plan on archiving… However, much of that archiving wasn’t getting done. Some brutal honesty: Finding lost media isn’t hard. Archiving it on a mass scale is, and it’s not nearly as fun. But with the surplus of info we have, we don’t want to gatekeep, so that hard work must be done. Here’s what we’ve tackled so far:

• We’ve completely reorganized the way our pages are set up on here. There used to be a heavy focus on articles about bands, but we are prioritizing the archived content first now.
• Updated a few descriptions, internal documents, and pages, such as our HUNTS page.
• Created pages for Knockout and 504 Plan, two bands very close to FOB in the TTTYG era. Knockout has an article, 504 Plan’s is in progress.
• Created a media submission form so anyone can submit media to our archive.
• Updated our Google Drive to be far more organized (still a lot of work to be done, frankly, but it is getting better).

So what are we tackling next?

• Our number one goal is to keep uploading more band content and making more pages. It takes time. We’re going to focus on actual Fall Out Boy stuff once we finish fixing up the pages we currently have.
• Fixing/updating a few pages. Our STAFF and ABOUT pages need some clean-up.
• We’re working on planning another trip to Chicago. Yeah, we never wrote about the first one… WE’LL GET TO IT!
• We’re working with a ton of different guys in the scene who have various audio, video, and photos that need digitized. Can’t be much more specific about that yet. Also working on doing more interviews!
• Making more long-form content. We still will eventually make that PDI search video for anyone interested. We have a few other ideas brewing, too.
• A big surprise coming in the next couple of months… We are VERY excited to share it with you all. 😉
