Personal Life
Jonathan “Dirty” Cecil Miller grew up in Jacksonville, Florida with his mother, father, and brothers Chris and Steven. As a teen he was on a soccer team and played trombone in a concert band.
Miller first began working in the music industry in 2003 when he was offered a job by his friend and the guitarist of Matchbook Romance- Ryan Depaulo. He left his job as a waiter at Red Lobster to work as a merch boy for Matchbook on the 2003 Yellow Card tour.
He first met Pete Wentz in early 2004 on the Mest World Tour and they quickly became close friends. He worked for Matchbook throughout 2004 before transitioning to working for Fall Out Boy on the 2004 Where You Want To Be Tour (although in a podcast Miller mis-remembered it as the 2004 Nintendo Fusion Tour, neither FOB nor Matchbook played that tour.) Working his last Matchbook tour right before officially joining FOB on the 2005 Fueled By Ramen Tour selling Clandestine. Eventually he transitioned from working as a merch boy to more general roadie- although he was, by his own admission, not very good at it, and mostly came on tour as a friend to Pete. He is friends with all of the band- although closest with Pete. He stepped down from touring in 2007 to see his first son grow up, right before getting signed with MTV.
Miller scored a job as a video jockey on MTV through Pete. (AN: I believe he was specifically on MTV2.) He had previously guested on TRL and MTVnews before, co-hosted a FNMTVpremiers christmas special with Pete, and acted in some MTV shorts. He also had a show on MTV with Todd Richards, and did interviews on MTV2 program 2008 AST Dew Tour. He worked there for 3 years. Eventually Miller left MTV, but his current job is unknown. He’s still friends with the band today and hangs out with them whenever they’re in Florida. Since his time working with FOB he has played a minor role in the film Extraction (2015).
